NA Standing Committee Debates in Second Reading Draft Law on Remuneration of Persons Holding State Positions and State Service Positions
1 / 7

At October 5 extraordinary sitting moderated by Heriknaz Tigranyan, the RA NA Standing Committee on Labor and Social Affairs debated in the second reading the draft law on Making Amendment and Addendum to the RA Law on Remuneration of the Persons Holding State Positions and State Service Positions, which makes an attempt to expand the scope of the social package services to be provided to the persons holding state positions and state service positions. The draft law authored by the Government was passed in the first reading during the NA regular sittings on the same day.

The deputies of the Armenia Faction presented two proposals: to apply a new provision for covering the loans in general, as well as to use the social package money for the house rent, property tax and land tax payment.

The RA Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Ruben Satgsyan has noted that the proposals are deviated from the main idea of the social package and do not stem from the draft law logic.

As a result of voting the proposals were rejected.

The bill with some editorial amendments was endorsed and will be debated in the second reading.
